(Agape OutReach Program)

Youth Group

In the above listed scripture Jesus explains how we are to reach out or out reach to the people in our community, our neighbors. He explained that we have a duty to feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, clothe the naked, visit the sick and imprisoned. He also commanded us to take care of the orphaned and the widowed. As members of the Agape' Church of God we had to take stock and ask ourselves, "Are we in compliance with this commission?" We desire to be sheep not goats. In compliance with the Lord's commission we have moved forward to stand up against wrongs and reach out to those in need. Our current ministries include the Jamaica Barrel Ministry, Boxes to Philippines, Supporting Homeless Coalition, HELP Organization. Agape' also supports other not for profit ministries through monetary and material donations such as Voice of the Martyrs, Ronald Mcdonald House (Tab Collections) Pro-Life, and Red Cross. (See Links)

In the future we hope to develop a shelter for the homeless where they may recieve warm showers, food and a place to rest, and for those who join the program job training and assistance in obtaining a job. We would also like to start a preventative program for first and second time offenders to assist in their reform and further aiding them to become "good citizens." Finally we would like to provide free performing arts training to youth as alternative positive activity through our Youth department's Agape' Performing Arts Academy.

Great Comission

The Great Comission: Matthew 28:19-20

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

We are also occupying our time in these last days to preach, teach and baptize. While tending to the physical needs of our neighbors we cannot neglect their spiritual needs. We have Bible Study, Prayer and fasting Services open to the public. We also offer these services in the home for those who are unable to attend. We currently hold services for our brothers and sisters at the local Nursing homes in Port Charlotte. Agape' is also not afraid to stand-up and speak against issues that are not right. We advocate for the unborn children through pro-life movements and ask for the involvement of our brothers and sisters in Christ to help us gather to pray and cousel those in need. We also continue to minister on-line and through the mail.

Therefore when we ask ourselves the question "Are we living up to the Great Commissions?" Our answer would be yes, however there is always room to do more and ".......For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.(Luke 12:48)"
